Trips to India
IFTA Director for India,
Rtn. Rahul. K. Wadhwa gave away TRIPS to INDIA to Rotarians
attending the 2007 RI convention. Visitors had two chances to win, via
Registration and when they visited our IFTA booth at the convention. We
generated quite a traffic jam and excitement along the Fellowship booth
aisle !

IFTA Chairman Robert Robar
Meet Bob Robar, your new IFTA Chairman for 2006-2008
-
Bob
Robar has accepted the role as Chairman for the 2006-2008 term. Bob is
married to Patti and has two grown children, one of which lives in Dublin,
Ireland. He has been a Rotarian since 1992 and is a Multiple Paul Harris
Society member. He is past president of his home club, the Rotary Club of
Downtown Gainesville, Florida, a 100 percent Paul Harris club. He has
been in travel all his life, having worked for a major airline for
twenty-five years and founding two travel agencies. He is a front-line
owner of Travel Centre of Gainesville and knows all sides of the travel
industry and the issues we face.
Bob also would like to propose that IFTA support the Wheelchair
Foundation as our Fellowships Project. What better way than for our
profession to provide humanity with the ability to see the world than
proving mobility for those less fortunate.
Bob is excited to help grow our Fellowship and will count on all his
fellow members to bring us all closer to the ideals of Rotary, that of
serving, not only our fellow members, but our extended Rotary families.
For those who will be attending the RI convention in Salt Lake City, Bob
is working with Rosey Wong, Past Chair of IFTA, to provide us
accommodations in the same hotel so that we can interact and grow our
friendships together. A night out for dinner and perhaps an evening tour
of the beautiful Salt Lake City area are on tap.

To the Members of the Rotary International Fellowship of
Travel Agents
As my two year term as your chairman draws to a close, I
would like to say just how much I have enjoyed the involvement.
It has been wonderful to see the true international side
of Rotary, which one does not get to see to the same extent at the Club
level.
Our Fellowship continues to grow, but will only do so
with the input and communication from our members. We have the chance to
grow in Rotary and at the same time grow our business through interchange
with each other.
My personal thanks goes to our hardworking secretary,
Rosey Wong, who really keeps the fellowship going – I like to thank her for
helping me the last 2 years and she has asked that some of you volunteer to
succeed her or assist some of her duties. Please volunteer and ensure that
we participate when she asks for our help.
For those who are going to the RI Conference in Malmo &
Copenhagen, have a great Rotary time, and to those who aren’t, please
consider going in the future, as it is a really good way of meeting Rotary
friends worldwide, and seeing just how Rotary International performs for us.
Finally, I would like to wish our incoming Chairman
Roslyn Callao all the very best for her term, and also wish the Fellowship
continued success and growth.
Yours in Rotary Fellowship

Brian W King
Chairman 2004 - 2006
